PLFGH operates 3 group homes supporting individuals with developmental disabilities throughout the Central Phoenix and West valley area. If you have direct care staff experience in this field and/or have a passion to make a lasting contribution in the lives of others, this is the career for you.

We are currently hiring for Full or Part Time Direct Support Professionals or Caregivers to work in our group homes in the Phoenix, Goodyear, and Avondale area.

 

The Pay:

$12.80-$15.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Direct Support Professional Responsibilities

• Providing direct care service and support to individuals with developmental disabilities.

• Assisting consumers with personal hygiene, meal time assistance, dental care, medical monitoring, and household chores.

• Modeling appropriate social behavior and positive use of free time with recreational activity, both in the home and community.

• Redirecting behaviors as needed.

• Promoting and ensuring a safe environment for consumers.

• Transporting consumers to and from the home, appointments, day programs, school, etc. as needed.

• This position requires the ability to work autonomously and with little to no direct supervision. Candidates must feel comfortable working with clients one-on-one and handling any associated behaviors.

 

Required Qualifications for a Direct Support Professional:

• Must be able to pass a level 1 fingerprint clearance background check.

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

• Driving is required for group home positions. You must have a valid AZ driver’s license with at least one year of driving history. A current 39-month motor vehicle report will be obtained to ensure that your driving history meets our insurance eligibility requirements.

• Must be able to commute to Phoenix, Goodyear, or Avondale. We have shifts available in each city

• Previous experience within the group home setting, HCBS programs, or DDD highly preferred.
