Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Oncology Clinic
Education and Certification Requirements:
- Current Colorado RN License or ability to obtain.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Card (ONS/ONCC) required within 30 days of hire.
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification preferred.
Experience:
- Preferred minimum of two years of oncology nursing experience.
- Experience in acute care settings, with specific knowledge of various patient populations and diseases.
- Familiarity with the ECOG (Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group) Performance Status scale.
Job Description: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Oncology Clinic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in oncology nursing and demonstrate proficiency in providing high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing treatment in the Medical Oncology Clinic.
- Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy treatments in accordance with established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Monitor patients for signs of adverse reactions and intervene promptly as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, medication management, and symptom management strategies.
- Collaborate with oncologists, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes accurately and thoroughly in electronic medical records.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary team meetings to optimize patient care delivery.
- Stay abreast of current evidence-based practices and emerging trends in oncology nursing.
Qualifications:
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of oncology nursing principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and their families.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced multidisciplinary team environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and patient needs.
