Job DescriptionJob Description

Double D Express currently has openings in our Regional Truckload division. Canidates will be responsible for the safe operation of tractor trailer combination with a gross weight of up to 80000 lbs.

Regional runs normally consist of a 250–550-mile radius of our terminal in Peru, Illinois, but occasionally run further. Drivers leave out of terminal Monday morning and are normally home Friday evening depending on your hours of service coming back to yard. NO WEEKENDS Most freight is 1 pick 1 drop, no touch freight. Average miles per week is 2200 to 2500 or more. Late model Volvo tractors.

Earn up to $0.54 per mile with sign on bonus after 90 days. Hazmat and tanker endorsement are required. If candidates do not have endorsements, they must be willing to secure within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a heavy or tractor-trailer truck
  • Load and unload cargo
  • Properly track and document activity log
  • Report any issues or incidents to dispatch.
  • Inspect truck before and after trip.

Qualifications:

  • Must have at least 1 year experience as OTR truck driver
  • Class A - CDL Required
  • Ability to handle physical workload.
  • Strong work ethic
  • Need Hazmat tanker endorsement (We will work with you on obtaining if you don't already have one)
  • Clean Driving Record
  • Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screening.
  • Must have current DOT physical.
