This is a great opportunity to grow your substance abuse career in a peaceful and private waterfront property along the banks of the Choptank River on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. You will be working with addiction assessments, developing individual treatment plans, and providing individual, family, and group counseling. You will evaluate patients’ progress during counseling and collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other counselors to assist the patients in achieving overall outcomes.
We are open to full-time and part-time applicants and willing to train to specialize in alcohol and drug counseling
Responsibilities:
- Provides counseling and case management services to patients in a substance abuse treatment program.
- Provide patient case management, and clinical education, including task-oriented and didactic groups
- Keeps accurate records to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as accreditation standards.
- Acts as patients' liaison with the entire program.
- Other related duties as determined by the supervisor
- Familiar with charting patients in electronic medical records software
Qualifications:
- Must be licensed in the State of Maryland for substance abuse counseling
- Possesses superb written and spoken communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with patients, colleagues, and community resources
- Compassionate and caring of patients
- Excellent time management skills; organized and able to prioritize
- LCTC Certification or working towards LCTC
