Job DescriptionJob Description

Collaborate with the Production team to document job setup, extrusion process and work activities for various extrusion dies. Maintain process documentation, write procedures and work instructions. Help refine and continuously improve extrusion process capability and die validation process. Develop ideal nominal processes while achieving or exceeding throughput rates.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Review and update established documentation for die setup and extrusion process parameters in various extrusion machines. Maintain required process documentation.
  • Document process procedures and write work instructions for various operations.
  • Help refine and continuously improve process capability and die validation process.
  • Establish Production Die Cards for legacy extrusion dies.
  • Document extrusion dies capable of running repeatable and robust extrusion processes by collaboratively working with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams.
  • Lead assignments for process improvement for end- to-end extrusion to secondary packaging.
  • Develop ideal nominal processes while achieving or exceeding throughput rates.
  • Troubleshoot quality/part issues by confirming plastic conditions and performing root cause analysis to determine true root cause solutions.
  • Effectively present process improvement and problem resolution solutions in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors and managers of the organization.
  • Perform appropriate duties as assigned by management
  • Maintain a safe and clean work space
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Verify process parameters prior to start up and assure process is running to validated parameters.
  • Troubleshoot production dies and assist production as needed.
  • Resolve basic extrusion issues and/or secondary packing equipment issues.
  • Work with other extrusion team members to keep equipment running during breaks and callouts.
  • Clean up the extrusion area at the end of the shift.
