Job Description: We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Yard Hand and Machine Operator to join our team.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of our scrap metal yard, including operating machinery, sorting materials, and ensuring the efficient flow of operations.

Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, cranes, and balers to process scrap metal materials.
• Sort, stack, and organize various types of metal materials efficiently.
• Assist in loading and unloading materials from trucks and containers.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure proper functionality.
• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times to maintain a safe working environment.
• Assist in general yard duties including cleaning and organizing work areas.

Requirements:

• Previous experience operating heavy machinery in a scrap metal yard or similar industrial environment preferred.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions closely.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Commitment to safety and willingness to adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
• Flexibility to work occasional weekends or overtime as needed.
