Food Server/Cashier

Job DescriptionJob Description

Job responsibilities include preparing and serving specialty made salads, sandwiches, and to-go food for customers. Operates cash register to accept payment for to-go food services. Maintains a cleanly workspace and ensures freshness of food served to customers.

General Accountabilities:

Customer Services

• Greets customer in a pleasant manner.
• Describes menu items, and preparation descriptions to customers or suggests food items that might appeal to them.
• Takes phone orders and assembles orders for customer pick-up.
• Assembles on-line orders for customer pick-up.
• Assist customers by providing information and resolving their complaints.

Food Preparation

• Prepares and serves specialty made salads.
• Ensures freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock.
• May be required to chop and prep salad or to-go food items.
• Inspects and cleans food preparation areas or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.

Cashier

• Receives cash/credit cards and processes customer payments.
• Issues receipts, refunds, credits, or change to customers.
• Maintains clean and orderly checkout area.

Stocking & Cleaning

• Stocks food service stations with to-go paper products, serving containers and utensils.
• Checks temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, and heating equipment to ensure proper functionality.
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas, utensils, equipment, and service areas.

Minimum Job Qualifications

• Minimum of few months to one year of food service or customer service experience
• Must have acceptable verbal English language communication skills.
• Must have basic math skills.
• Requires ability to lift 5-25 pounds.
• Requires Food Handlers Certificate, which may be obtained prior to start date.
