Wabtec is seeking a qualified Assembler Technician I-Bus Charging to join our team in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. The ideal candidate will Assemble and test multiple styles of front and rear bus door electrical and pneumatic actuators. Will need direct supervision from Team Lead and/or manager. Work from blueprints, electrical wiring diagrams and Process Standards Sheets (PSS), Team Leader and manager instructions.
Assembler Technician I-Bus Charging Job Responsibilities: (Partial List)
· Using pneumatic tools, hand tools, electric tools, and torque tools to attach and properly secure a wide variety of components and subassemblies to a base plate.
· Utilizes electrical testing equipment, insulation hi-pot test, electrical continuity test and contact force.
· Follows assembly drawings, Process Standard Sheet (PSS) instructions and verbal directions from Team Leader and supervisor.
· Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
· Ensure a safe working environment, good housekeeping and 5’s for your respective area and all of VBI.
· Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Assembler Technician I-Bus Charging Skills/Qualifications: (Partial List)
· Have basic shop math skills, and ability to read and interrupt blueprints
· Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
· Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
· To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Manufacturing software.
Education:
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED); technical studies preferred; and one (1) to two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
