Position: Accounting Clerk

Location: Fort Myers, Florida

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for numbers, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial and logistical processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable and Receivable:

    • Process accounts payable invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
    • Prepare and issue invoices for accounts receivable.
    • Reconcile statements and ledgers.
  • Data Entry:

    • Accurately enter financial data into accounting software and spreadsheets.
    • Maintain up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
  • Financial Reporting:

    • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
    • Generate reports detailing accounts status and activity.
  • Reconciliation:

    • Reconcile bank statements and ensure discrepancies are resolved.
    • Reconcile vendor and customer accounts.
  • Administrative Support:

    • Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
    • Maintain and organize financial files and records.
    • Provide administrative support to the accounting department as needed.
  • Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations.
    • Assist in the preparation for audits and compliance checks.

Qualifications

  • Education:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
    • Experience in the logistics or transportation industry is a plus.
  • Skills:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
    • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage).
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Good organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
