TalentFund has partnered with a growing company in the Kansas City, Missouri area to add a qualified Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to their staff. This company has a great culture, offers a competitive compensation package and benefits, and significant career opportunity.

The ideal candidate is a design engineer with an understanding and experience in machinery, custom-build machinery and comfortable in a manufacturing environment. A minimum of ten-years of relevant experience is required. An individual with a go-getter attitude, enjoys working with their hands, is detail-oriented, a natural problem-solver and team player will excel in this role. We are looking for a key team-member that wants to build their career on our team

Experience in the following areas are key to success in this role:

1. Machine design using structural steel shapes and machined plates, bars, tubing, etc.

2. Fabrication methods including fasteners and welding methods

3. Sizing of drive components such as gearmotors, pneumatic cylinders, roller chains, belt drives, and other power transmission components

4. Must know AutoCAD and Inventor (SolidWorks)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Create clear and precise fabrication detail drawings and installation layouts based upon the project scope, specifications, and estimate. Including purchase components and fabrication material call outs on drawings.

· Designing of mechanical equipment based upon the project scope, specifications, and estimate.

· Cross-team, multi-functional communication and collaboration are key to success in this role

Qualifications:

· Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering technology, or minimum 5 years experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Knowledge of mechanical mechanisms and machine design. Including various mechanical components such as mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic drive packages.

· Ability to design mechanical equipment based upon project specifications and project scope.

· Ability to coordinate and communicate mechanical equipment functions, sequence of operations, time cycle requirements and etc. with controls/electrical engineering.

· Willingness to travel to job sites for field measurements, and assisting the installation, start-up and debugging equipment based upon the project scope of work.
