  • fundamental knowledge of:
    • bearings
    • power transmission equipment
    • lubrication
    • hydraulics/pneumatics
    • fluid pumping systems
    • heat transfer
    • rigging
    • overhead cranes
    • mobile equipment
  • comfortable repairing various types of heavy equipment (Sennebogen, Trackmobile, Komatsu, Volvo, etc)
  • ability to troubleshoot, rebuild, and repair the following
    • Bearing Installation and care
    • hydraulic systems
    • pneumatic systems
    • overhead cranes
    • shear clutch & brake systems
  • perform alignments on motors and gearboxes
  • determine grades and sizes of bolts, pipes, tubing, cables, and wires
  • responsible for predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance and documentation using computer
