POSITION SUMMARY:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering principles, with a specific focus on automotive systems and components. Youll be designing and building wheelchair-accessible vehicles and all of the components that are involved with them.

Youll collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with electrical, software, and other subsystems. Youll conduct performance testing and analysis to validate designs and identify areas for improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Your day-to-day will be design and development of mechanical systems and components for automotive or other chassis, suspensions, and/or crashworthiness
  • Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software
  • Support manufacturing and production teams to ensure a smooth transition from design to production
  • Draw layouts, part detailing, and GD&T
  • Stay current with emerging automotive technologies and trends to drive innovation within the organization
  • Integrate mechanical, electronic, and control systems for optimal performance into our products
  • May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description
  • May develop into a Vice President of Engineering role
  • Conduct thorough analysis and testing to ensure the efficiency, reliability, and safety of mechanical designs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems into overall product designs.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience and or familiarity with automotive and/or other vehicle suspension, chassis or crashworthiness desired
  • Working knowledge and proficiency with SOLIDWORKS and FEA
  • Experience and/or familiarity with CARB (California Air and Resource Board)
  • Minimum of [5] years of experience in mechanical design and development
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
