Job DescriptionJob Description

Essential Job Functions:

  • Load and unload all truck deliveries.
  • Must be able to meet all productivity standards.
  • Stock all merchandise. 
  • Keep back room stock areas and salvage areas organized.
  • Keep supply area organized and clean.
  • Face shelving.
  • Build or tear down displays on end units, promo isles and other area displays.
  • Help maintain sanitation conditions in entire store, including the backroom.
  • Bag and carry out customer’s groceries.
  • May be required to order merchandise. 
  • May be required to perform checker duties and Video Department duties. 
  • Help provide store security.
  • Explain standards of performance to associates and work with them in achieving them. Conduct performance 
  • reviews on a timely basis and continually coach associates to improve performance in accordance with direction 
  • from store management. 
  • Maintain equipment and facilities properly and safely in accordance with company policies and procedures. 
  • Maintain floor, shelf and grocery areas clean and up to sanitary standards.
  • Demonstrate the ability and desire to promote, communicate and implement company initiatives and process 
  • improvements to direct reports in a positive manner.
  • Ability to make intelligent decisions quickly.
  • Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
  • Adhere to company policies & procedures, particularly in the areas of dress code, grooming, sanitation, and 
  • maintenance of a work environment free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.
  • Perform any and all duties as assigned

Physical Demands:

  • Standing & Walking – Frequent standing & walking. Estimated total time 7.5 hrs. Maximum continuous time 
  • up to 4 hrs.
  • Sitting – Rarely required. Estimated total time 30 mins. Maximum continuous time 30 mins.
  • Lifting & Carrying – Max weight 90-100 lbs., average weight 25 lbs., distance carried 2 – 10 feet. Must 
  • frequently lift items under 10 lbs. and items between 11-25 lbs., occasionally lift items between 26-75 lbs. and 
  • rarely lift 76- 100 lbs.
  • Pushing and Pulling – Occasionally pushing or pulling carts, flat beds, U-boats, tray racks, and pallet jacks up 
  • to 100 feet.
  • Climbing – Occasionally climb step ladder ranging from 1.5 feet to 6 feet tall. Occasionally reaching product
  • stored on shelves above reach.
  • Other – This position also requires frequent bending, squatting, and kneeling, as well as constant use of either 
  • arm or both for reaching in all directions. Other requirements include walking across sloped surfaces, twisting, 
  • neck flexion/extension, cervical rotation, high grip strength, frequent forearm movement, and frequent or 
  • sustained awkward wrist positions.
  • Work Conditions – Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, sudden changes in temperature, tool vibration & 
  • sharp edges.
