Duties and Responsibilities:

· Lead by example. Effectively plan, communicate, manage, and support day to day production over three shift operations to drive safe, profitable and sustainable growth.

· Initiate plans and processes to minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of resources.

· Monitor production and uptime. Implement continuous improvement principles to minimize scrap, downtime, and quality issues.

· Develop and implement operating methods and procedures to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.

· Effectively lead, mentor, and develop production team including interviewing, hiring, training, performance reviews and conflict resolution.

· Achieve business objectives and execute production schedules, while ensuring product standards that will exceed customer expectations.

· Establish group and individual objectives throughout assigned departments for problem solving and cost reduction.

· Manage spending against budget and in relation to changes in production volume.

· Ensure good housekeeping practices (5S) and safety throughout entire facility.

· Ensure customer quality (internal rejection rate, customer complaints, etc.) and support Quality Manager with corrective actions and disposition of non-conforming product.

· Support the execution of new program launches (sampling, equipment, process layout, etc.).

· Drive continuous productivity improvement across all departments. Set expected performance levels of each department and reward, coach and develop individuals using a hands-on approach.

· Create a work environment that drives motivation, initiative, engagement, and stresses accountability.

· Assist planner with revisions to production schedules and priorities because of equipment failure or other operations problems.

· Conduct meetings to resolve or settle personal complaints together with HR Manager.

· Work with HR and Quality Manager to develop training practices.

Skills/qualifications:

· Five years management experience in plastics injection molding or plastic extrusion manufacturing environment.

· Ability to prioritize and provide strategic direction to a team of cross-functional departments and follow through on expectations.

· Overall understanding of plastics manufacturing methods and machinery.

· Creative problem solver, effective communicator, motivated self-starter, dependable and adaptable.

· Proficient computer skills and experience with ERPs, IQMS a plus.

· Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Process Technician a plus.

· Bilingual in Spanish is ideal (not necessary)
