Salary Range: $21.00 hourly
Duration: 6 months

Job Overview:
Perform general maintenance of the buildings and grounds including carpentry and painting
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform interior and exterior small scale building repairs, such as patching walls, minor painting and carpentry
- Assist HVAC Technician in maintaining and repairing the systems
- Perform maintenance duties such as light bulb replacements, snow removal, spreading ice melt and sand, and maintaining grounds
- Complete furniture and AV set ups for meetings and events following instructions on Event Orders
- Transport furniture, shipments, and other objects in support of other departments
- Perform custodial work such as sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning glass, vacuuming carpets as assigned
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Follow safety requirements and regulations to ensure appropriate steps are completed for safety of self and others
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines and equipment
- Complete other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- General knowledge of operating procedures and safe practices of working with power tools, especially tables saws, circular saws, routers, and drills
- General knowledge of carpentry, painting, and maintenance practices
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Ability to work on ladders and lifts, and perform overhead work
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work under dirty or dusty conditions and/or outside in adverse weather
- Ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff and the public
- Must have a valid driver license and clean driving record.

EDUCATION:
High school graduate or equivalent; trade or technical school training preferred
EXPERIENCE:
Two years performing maintenance work
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Hepatitis B Vaccination or Waiver
- Pre-employment Physical
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (evenings and weekends) to provide coverage for the Museum's many events running 7 days per week
