Job Description Responsibilities for this position include:

  • General real estate and civil litigation matters
  • Detainer Summons and Court Hearings
  • Review, examine, and analyze title search and search results, surveys, legal descriptions, contracts and other documentation to determine ownership and insurability and accurately detect title issues that must be resolved prior to closing.
  • Draft and oversee preparation of legal documents for purchase, sale and refinance of real property (e.g., Deeds, Affidavits, CD/Settlement Statements).
  • Review, prepare and/or oversee issuance of title commitments (or other products) that accurately sets out the requirements and exceptions for the issuance of the final title policy for quality and compliance with state laws, company, industry and underwriter best practices and standards.
  • Provide title curative solutions and work with closing staff to resolve title issues.
  • Oversee post-closing disbursements and policy issuance.
  • Close real estate purchase and refinance transactions.
  • Probate administration

Skills

  • Strong communication
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Highly proficient in computer/word processing systems (Word, Excel, etc. on Mac or PC)
  • Punctual and Organized

Required license or certification:

  • Current license to practice law in the state of Tennessee
  • Must have 2-4 years of relevant legal practice experience
  • Notary Public in the state of Tennessee

Experience:

  • Legal Drafting: at least 1 years
  • Legal Research: 1 years
  • Relevant Private Legal Practice: 1 years

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Starting at $65,000.00
