We are seeking an experienced supply chain professional with at least 3 years of operations or supply chain experience to join our team at Ascent Chemicals. As Plant Planner, you will be the central force in the production planning & material planning process at our Fountain Inn, SC site. Your responsibilities will focus around the creation of production schedule and ordering raw materials to ensure the plant can execute the production plan.

Principle Duties:

  • Enable on-time order fulfillment through the creation of the detailed production schedule and the execution of the raw material purchasing plan.
  • Create, schedule, and maintain Production work orders to optimize service, inventory and cost.
  • Create, issue, and maintain all raw material purchase orders to optimize service, inventory and cost.
  • Utilize timely and effective communication of issues in our manufacturing process and/or supplier performance delays that may impact the production schedule. This includes providing daily updates to advise both internal and external personnel regarding the production schedule and open order status changes, identifying appropriate re-planning and/or recommended courses of action to minimize customer impacts.
  • Assist in the validation of raw material & finished good inventory values and ensure ERP system accuracy.
  • Achieve KPI’s to support the organization’s service, working capital, and cost goals. Provide formal and informal reporting on plant performance such as backorders, production schedule adherence, production feasibility, and OTIF.
  • Ensure personal compliance with all company Safety regulations and guidelines, Quality System, Operational, and Human Resource policies, procedures, and practices, including housekeeping procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4 year degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field of study.
  • 3+ years of applicable Supply Chain experience.
  • Proficiency with common ERP and planning/materials management systems and MS Office, primarily Excel.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple projects at a time.
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset, comfortable challenging the status quo.
  • Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and six sigma.
