Fire Protection System Technician

We are looking to hire someone that is highly motivated and interested in developing skills in many areas of fire protection service. While prior experience would be a great, the starting wage is compliant with prevailing wage for apprenticeship and we are willing to provide training in all areas of the industry that we currently provide services for. The company will cover the cost of courses and testing in certifications for motivated employees looking to expand their relevant skills. Some jobs will require longer travel distances, but travel expenses will be covered by the company. Full time or part time schedule negotiable. Overtime may be required infrequently.
Position Summary: Perform testing, inspection, service, and maintenance of various fire protection systems including fire suppression systems, fire alarms, pumps, and backflows. All service is required to be completed in compliance with NFPA codes.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, service, and install systems in compliance with appropriate codes
- Follow set inspection schedule and complete all work in a timely manner
- Input data and complete reports on site during inspections and service work
- Carry out repairs and maintenance of systems according to specifications.
- Participate in job walks, assessing equipment and conditions of fire systems for proposals
- Participate in scheduled on-call rotation
- Provide exceptional customer service when communicating with clients
- Communicate consistently with company staff
Qualifications:
1. Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Able to pass background checks for higher security job sites
2. Preferred Skills
Familiarity with hand and power tools
Ability to handle physical workload
Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
Strong attention to detail and communication skills
A California Extinguisher License
