Sierra Peaks is an integrated design and manufacturing company committed to delivering high-quality products/services to our customers. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Purchasing Agent.

Job Summary: As a Purchasing Agent, you will play a crucial role in supporting our procurement activities for production. You will be responsible for the procurement of goods and services essential for our operations, with a particular focus on electronic components. Your primary objective will be to ensure cost-effective purchasing and timely delivery of materials while maintaining high standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and procure goods and services according to company policies and procedures.
  • Review and analyze purchase requisitions and create purchase orders in accordance with specified requirements.
  • Communicate with vendors to obtain price quotes, product specifications, and delivery timelines.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals and negotiate terms, prices, and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with team to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Coordinate with operations manager to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Assist in resolving issues related to purchasing, delivery, and invoicing discrepancies.
  • Support multiple sites in purchasing capacity. 
  • Receive, process, and fulfill orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare shipping documents (e.g., packing slips, bills of lading) and ensure they are properly completed.
  • Pack and label products securely and safely for shipment.
  • Coordinate with logistics providers and carriers to arrange for timely pickup and delivery of shipments.
  • Monitor and track shipment progress and resolve any issues that may arise during transit.
Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in business/logistics or related field is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with procurement processes and practices, especially in electronic components, is a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems
  • Knowledge of shipping regulations and practices is preferred.
