Supervisor - Auto Damage Appraisal

Job Description:

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise 3 field estimators, ensuring high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Review damaged vehicle information and oversee the accuracy and timeliness of auto claims estimation process including structural, body, mechanical, electrical, or interior damage.
  • Review and approve auto damage repair cost estimates to ensure accurate, cost-conscious estimation of parts and labor for repairs
  • Monitor and ensure completion, accuracy and timeliness of total loss evaluations, salvage value determinations, salvage bid negotiations and salvage sale collections.
  • Oversee and communicate with repair shops to effectuate repair and rental cost mitigation and adherence to service level agreements.
  • Prepare and review appraisal reports, ensuring accuracy and thorough documentation of repair cost estimates and recommendations.
  • Monitor and control claims costs and expenses, implementing strategies to reduce overhead while maintaining service quality.
  • Identify and drive process improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for complex inquiries from attorneys, regulatory bodies, producers, and consumers.
  • Recruit new and build and maintain strong relationships with quality, cost-conscious repair shops.
  • Ensure the team maintains an organized, efficient operation, with up to 50% fieldwork involving shop visits and vehicle inspections.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with claim adjusters, claim management, and other personnel throughout the company.
  • Perform other supervisory duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in auto damage appraisal or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in writing auto damage estimates and/or equivalent body shop experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of estimating programs and collision repair practices, with a preference for Mitchell, CCC, I-Car, and ASE certifications.
  • Deep understanding of the local marketplace and industry trends.
  • Proficiency with technology, particularly with Excel and estimating software.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • A responsible, conscientious approach to managing tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to high-quality work.

The Position:

  • Full-Time, 40-Hour Work Week: 8am-5pm CST, Monday-Friday
