Are you ready to take the reins as a pivotal leader within our esteemed credit union? We're excited to offer an exceptional opportunity for a forward-thinking and strategic Senior Vice President of Lending (SVPL). Reporting directly to the President/CEO, you'll be instrumental in driving the success and growth of our lending business across consumer, indirect, and residential sectors.

Main Responsibilities Include:

  • Reporting to the President/CEO, this talented executive will be responsible for successfully leading the consumer and residential lending operations including, but not limited to, budget planning, risk management and asset liability.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to meet market share and loan production goals and to ensure a competitive consumer lending product offering
  • Lead, evaluate, implement, launch, monitor and improve various loan origination systems, vendor changes or product launches
  • Assists CEO with long and short-term planning for the Mortgage and Consumer Lending departments
  • Participates in developing lending policies and procedures and ensures that they complement organizational goals
  • Executes established operational goals and coordinates their implementation with other departments and with your team members
  • Ensures that lending activities are conducted in accordance with established policy guidelines and standards, and are properly documented
  • Ensures that policies are updated and are in accordance with evolving regulations, legal requirements, and industry trends
  • Ensures required reports and related documents are completed promptly and accurately, and in compliance with Credit Union guidelines and policies
  • Monitors economic indicators to evaluate potential impacts on the loan portfolios to maintain a delicate balance between stimulating loan growth, maximizing profitability, and mitigating risks.
  • Lead the lending team in evaluating loan applications, assessing credit risk, and ensuring sound underwriting practices
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence within the lending department, providing mentorship and development opportunities to team members.

At a Minimum, We’d like you to have:

  • 7 years of progressive lending management experience in a financial institution.
  • 10 years' experience as a loan officer, with 5 years serving in a senior leadership capacity.
  • BS Degree, advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful lending strategies in a dynamic and competitive market environment.
  • Experience in Mortgage Lending Management, Consumer and Card Lending, Business/Commercial Lending, Sales, or Marketing is a plus.
