Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a 3PVA Elections Office Fellow. The Fellow will work closely with the Mercer County Board of Elections Office staff to support various administrative, outreach, and operational tasks related to the electoral process. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in election administration and public service.

Responsibilities:

Assist with voter registration processes, including data entry, verification, and maintenance of voter registration records.

Provide administrative support for election-related activities, such as preparing election materials, organizing voter information sessions, and managing communication with stakeholders.

Participate in the planning and execution of elections, including setting up polling locations, distributing ballots, and assisting voters with the voting process as needed.

Conduct research and analysis on election-related issues, regulations, and best practices to inform decision-making and improve operational efficiency.

Respond to inquiries from the public, candidates, and election officials regarding election procedures, voting rights, and other related matters.

Maintain accurate records, files, and databases related to election activities, voter registration, and campaign finance disclosures.

Stay informed about changes in election laws, policies, and procedures at the local, state, and federal levels, and ensure compliance with legal requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Mercer County Board of Elections Office Supervisor or Director.

Qualifications:

High school or equivalent education/experience.

Ability to type a minimum 55 wpm.

Mercer County residents strongly preferred.

One (1) year general clerical work involving public contact

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with database management software preferred.

Microsoft Office: 4 years (Preferred)

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Prior experience in election administration, government, or community organizing is a plus.

Commitment to upholding the integrity of the electoral process and promoting voter participation and civic engagement.

Working Conditions:

Fellow will be required to work from 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Monday through Friday. The Board of Elections may require modified hours and some weekends prior to the Primary Election and General Election days. Weekend hours will be from 8:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M or 4:30 P.M.

This is a temporary position running from April 22,2024 through June 30,2024 and September 23,2024 through December 20,2024.
