Our client’s purpose is to design and deliver innovative solutions to protect the traveling public and road workers by making transportation safer, smarter, and more sustainable.

Job Summary:

This is a temp–to–hire opportunity. Purchase goods, materials, and services to ensure that the company's operational needs are met, considering price, quality, and delivery and ensuring continuity of supply.

Junior Buyer Job Duties:

• Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.

• Generate and release Purchase Orders (PO) and receive the supplier’s acknowledgment of PO receipt.

• Ensuring information on purchase orders is correct, complete, and accurately reflects the specific requirements of the material

requisition.

• Follow up with vendors to ensure purchase orders have the correct price, freight charge, and delivery date.

• Communicate any supply problems which may impact business operations.

• Work with supply chain coordinators and other departments to mitigate risks and ensure smooth operations.

• Work closely with others in the procurement department and review opportunities for continuous improvement and business

improvements.

• Expedite shipping and deliveries when needed, monitor usage inconsistencies, price changes, and vendor backorders.

• Work with inventory control to resolve supplier-related inventory discrepancies.

• Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships and maintain good communication.

Junior Buyer Requirements:

• Degree or 3-5 years of relevant work experience preferred.

• Must have strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Must possess strong attention to detail and good organizational skills with the ability to ensure accurate work.

• Ability to work independently but as part of a team concept.

• Flexibility and the ability to operate under stressful, time-sensitive deadlines.

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and related database systems.

• Experience in JD Edwards or other ERP systems is highly preferred.
