Job description

We are looking for a responsible Receiving Inspector to receive, inspect, and record shipments with raw materials or products in the Aerospace and Defense markets. You will be responsible for unloading packages and checking their contents to ensure they match the orders, drawing requirements, and traceability requirements. A receiving inspector must have a great eye for detail, basic math skills, and be able to use a computer for entry into ERP systems. They must have adequate physical strength to unload shipping as well as the clerical skills to update records and follow up with suppliers. The goal is to ensure we receive the correct materials and stock them appropriately. Successful inspectors will have a variety of growth opportunities within the company to include Quality Assurance Technician and Lead Quality Assurance Technician.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with procurement staff for expected deliveries
  • Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt
  • Unload packages from incoming trucks
  • Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged
  • Verify packages according to orders, invoices, and specifications or drawings (quantity, measurements, quality, price, etc.)
  • Make entries into an MRB system to track and correct non-conformities
  • Contact supplier or shipper if a mistake is identified
  • Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements
  • Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated location
  • Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control

Skills

  • Experience with materials and processes associated with the Aerospace and Defense industries is preferred, but not required
  • Proven experience as receiving inspector or similar position
  • AS9120B, AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 experience or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data (Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Basic math and recording abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Great communication and interpersonal abilities
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be a US Citizen
