Length: per diem
Shift: 8hr shift (varies) w/weekends
LVN Pay rate: $45/hr
Pediatric Department : Main location Escondido and must be willing to work at San Marcos, Oceanside, Rancho Bernardo and Carlsbad
Primary duties:
Working with a Pediatrician 1:1, taking pediatric vital signs, height , weight, nebulizers( albuterol and racemic epi), nasal and NP suction, pediatric catheters, administering pediatric vaccines including covid vaccines, administering adult flu vaccines. Point of Care- urine testing, pregnancy testing, flu testing, rapid strep testing. Administering medications.
Must have Pediatric experience administering vaccines, taking pediatric vital signs and computer proficiency. Open to take someone who feels comfortable working with Peds if they do not have Peds experience.
Infusion Department : Main location will be Zion and must be able to float to San Marcos and Otay Mesa
Primary Duties:
dressing change for PICCs, port access, blood draws, blood transfusions, IV hydration, PO meds, IM/SC injections (Must be IV Certified-Central line knowledge and care (PICCs/Ports), great IV skills, experience giving IM/SC injections)
Other responsibilities:
- Record a patient’s medical history accurately
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate etc.
- Observe patients under treatment to identify progress, side-effects of medications etc.
- Administer injections, prescribed medications, enemas etc., clean and dress wounds and assist with other basic medical care tasks
- Collect samples for lab testing as assigned
- Provide emotional and psychological support when needed
- Communicate with patients’ family or friends to provide advice, and comfort
- Compassionate and able to handle stress
Requirements:
- Resume
- Nursing license – CA LVN
- IV Certification
- Current - BLS/CPR
- Skills checklist
- 1 to 2– current Supervisor references
- Physical (within the last 12 months)
- PPD (within the last 12 months)
- MMR, Varicella, Hep B , Tdap/Flu
- LVN exams
- COVID results – negative – current
- Covid Vaccination strongly preferred, and declination has to be approved
- LGBT Training Certification
- Copy or driver’s license and SS card
- Must be able to pass background/ urine drug screen
