We are seeking a skilled CAD Designer to provide design support to our sales department under the supervision of the Engineering Manager. This role involves designing systems for quoted jobs using designated software to meet customer requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design systems in compliance with NFPA codes, manufacturer instructions, local city ordinances, and customer specifications.
- Obtain all necessary approvals.
- Prepare shop drawings, material listings, and hydraulic calculations (when required).
- Provide pre-installation support to sales and the shop.
- Conduct coordination meetings with architects, tradespersons, and general contractors.
- Perform field visits and walkthroughs at buildings, job sites, and offices.
- Communicate with customers, general contractors, fire departments, architects, and consultants regarding code interpretation, cost impacts, and scheduling.
- Support fitters in the field throughout project installation.
- Stay current on all local and national codes governing the design and installation of systems.
- Attend department meetings, follow up on open items, and perform additional organizational duties as required.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent required.
- Experience with field conditions and surveying existing buildings.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Hydratec Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of Navisworks, Revit, 3D AutoCAD, and Bluebeam desired.
- Ability to read and understand architectural, structural, technical, and mechanical drawings and schematics.
- Strong team collaboration skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple project tasks simultaneously.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
