12-volt Installation Technician Apprentice

World Class Audio is looking to expand our scope of services to include emergency vehicle outfitting. We are a mobile service company and have provided electronic accessories and electronic repairs to the automotive industry for over 30 years. We are looking for candidates who want to work hard in a hands-on environment and have great attention to detail to join our team as an apprentice in the role of Automotive Installation Technician- Emergency Vehicle Upfitter. The candidate will also benefit from the learning experience.

In this role, you will be trained to transform new factory stock vehicles into highly specialized emergency vehicles needed to protect and serve our communities and first responders. You will also be involved in automotive dealership accessory installations.

  • Full Time-Hourly
  • The typical Schedule is Monday- Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; some overtime required

 

Compensation

  • $ 15.00 - $20.00 per hour depending on experience

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Removal of factory interior and exterior equipment and parts
  • Installation of specialized parts including Lightbars, Red and Blue lights, Push Bumpers, Sirens, Controllers, Speakers, Partitions, Window Bars, Prisoner seats, Gun racks, In Car Video, Computers, License Plate Recognition, and much more.
  • Carefully tracking inventory and work orders
  • Participating in shop clean-up and safety duties

 

 

 

Attributes of a Strong Candidate:

 

 

  • Must be familiar with and used to working with hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, hand drills, etc.
  • Physically fit with exceptional manual and physical dexterity to work in, under, and around vehicles
  • Basic knowledge or any previous experience of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of vehicles preferred (12V system)
  • Ability to work independently while in a team environment
  • The desire to learn a new trade and be a part of a positive working culture and team
  • Attention to detail
  • Pre-Employment Background Check
