Summary:

Under general supervision, sets up test apparatus and conducts tests of production electronic assemblies and units following established methods, procedures, standards and sequences. Occasional heavy lifting of up to 60 lbs. may be required.

Responsibilities/Skills:

§ Read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams.

§ Understand and carry out written instructions.

§ Set up and use various measuring and testing devices (multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers).

§ Conduct tests and identify component faults.

§ Provide written/verbal instructions to production technicians for adjusting or replacing parts or components.

§ Maintain record of test results with attention to detail.

§ Performs other duties as assigned.

Problem Solving and Discretion/Latitude:

§ Basic knowledge of the general job requirements and some understanding of the detailed aspects of the job.

§ Close supervision involving detailed instructions and constant checking on performance.

§ Works primarily with immediate work unit.

Knowledge/Requirements:

§ Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent.

§ Apprenticeship and/or formal training in electronics strongly preferred.

§ Minimum of 1 year of experience in the electronics test field.
