Our client is looking to hire a Supply Chain Manager with experience in Raw Material Inventory Management and Purchasing; Quality Control; Final Product Inventory Management and Sales Order Entry; and, Outbound Logistics. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, has a passion for growing their career, and wants to have a hand in driving the business forward and building the supply chain organization.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Raw Material Inventory Management

  • Maintain raw material inventory records, especially during production campaigns.
  • Responsible to manage supply of raw materials to eliminate downtime due to raw material stock-out while minimizing excess inventories (working capital)
  • Negotiate favorable purchasing terms with suppliers for key raw materials.
  • Manage ePMX procurement system and place orders for lab and production materials.
  • Receive shipments and place production raw materials into quarantine.
  • Match POs with packing slips and make sure proper invoicing using ePMX. This needs to be done daily so that invoices can be approved and paid in a timely manner.
  • Maintain paper records of packing slips.
  • Work with Accountants to correct sales tax, freight and pricing on invoices for payment by accounting.
  • Utilize software systems to eliminate redundancy, save time and reduce data entry errors in inventory management, purchasing, receiving and payments.
  • Record quarter-end and year-end raw material inventory and provide to Accounting.

Quality

  • Identify multiple alternative suppliers for key raw materials with a focus on quality and cost effectiveness.
  • Qualify production raw material suppliers and maintain records of supplier qualification (Paper)
  • With direction from Vice President, Quality, maintain Raw Material Inspection Reports (RMIRs) and qualify vendors.
  • Follow protocols to ensure animal derived components are handled in designated areas under quarantine and not allowed to enter manufacturing.

Final Product Inventory Management, Sales Order Entry & Supply Chain

  • Coordinate and run the weekly Supply Chain Meeting with Manufacturing, Quality, and Marketing.
  • Maintain final product inventory records (SharePoint) and report weekly the status of inventory in terms of product order pipeline, and work with Marketing to update product opportunity pipeline for the weekly supply chain meeting.
  • Record quarter-end and year-end final product inventory and provide to Accounting.
  • Quickly enter expected ship date into orders in Salesforce.
  • Work with Marketing to incorporate product demand forecast into production schedule and final product inventory projection for each product. Forecast next 6 months.

Outbound Logistics

  • Manage outbound freight costs and outbound logistics.
  • Manage third party warehouse requirements in Germany and inventory levels to support EU opportunities. 
  • Input shipping information into Shipstation and salesforce.
  • Pick, pack and ship according to standard operating procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce shipping, packaging and handling costs.
  • Ship samples to 3rd party labs and FoCo, as needed.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Business, Finance, Accounting or technical discipline.
  • 2+ years of Supply Chain Management experience.
  • Experience managing personnel is preferred.    
  • Comfortable with business negotiations and able to improve cost of goods by improving supply terms for key raw materials and managing Just-In-Time (JIT) inventory. Able to identify opportunities for win-win outcomes with suppliers. Drives a hard bargain, but maintains relationships with vendors so they want to meet client’s expectations.
  • Understands key financial drivers of the supply chain function: working capital (inventory/payables), cost of materials, cost of inventory, opportunity cost of stock-out, and cost of goods sold. Can establish priorities and focus on executing top priorities without getting distracted by minutiae.
  • Strong proficiency in Office 365, SharePoint, and TEAMS. Capable of managing information technology to improve knowledge and decision making. Proficient in Excel. Experience with Purchasing and Inventory Systems is a plus.
  • Expert Communication skills. Can present ideas concisely with clarity in a way that others understand. Communicates to key team members when unexpected changes negatively impact customers or project timelines.
  • Anticipates problems and identifies backup plans early to try to stay on track with expected ship dates and project timelines. High professional standards. Has ability to execute according to a disciplined project management process incorporating ownership, timelines and accountability. Able to keep suppliers on schedule with delivery. A bulldog when needed to keep client’s interest front and center with vendors.
  • Knows what he/she knows and doesn’t know. Has examples of failure and can openly and honestly accept accountability for mistakes. Sees failure as a learning opportunity.
  • Must be a Team Player. Actively seeks and supports the success of other team members. Gives credit to others.
