Property Staff Accountant

Seeking a highly motivated Staff Accountant in Whippany, NJ to join our growing and dynamic property management team You will have your own individual portfolio of clients with all aspects of financial reporting.
Staff Accountant responsibilities will include preparing and reconciling monthly financial statements, including reconciling bank statements, recording monthly prepaid and accruals and interacting with clients by providing excellent client service. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and/or auditing.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and reconcile bank and investment statements
- Prepare annual budgets/forecasts
- Complete accrual-based monthly financials in a specified timeframe
- Reconcile account payable and receivables
- Record cash receipts
- Prepare monthly variance analysis with detailed explanations
- Reviewed audited financial statements and post-audit adjustment into general ledger
- Complete specialized assignments
Requirements
- Work experience as an accountant. Audit experience recommended however not required
- Experience and knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including GAAP
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Be able to complete various tasks within a specified timeframe
- Proficient in MS Excel and Adobe Acrobat
- Exposure servicing real estate entities is recommended
