Job Description: Senior Field Service Technician
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Field Service Technician (SFST) to join our team. As an SFST, you will play a crucial role in supporting installation projects and ensuring the efficient operation of our systems. Your expertise and knowledge will be essential in installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining proprietary Acoustic Threat Detection systems (Gunshot) for municipalities, utilities, industrial, governmental, and corporate/educational campuses. You will collaborate closely with engineers, technicians, IT and Security personnel, and other team members to ensure the successful execution of projects. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and has a passion for technical problem-solving.
Responsibilities:
- Install and document new equipment and systems, including technical issues related to IT, IoT, software, and systems architecture.
- Supervise and collaborate with licensed subcontractors on installations
- Plan, schedule, and execute maintenance and repair tasks on equipment and systems to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Perform periodic routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment to identify potential issues and address them proactively.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to develop and implement technical solutions and improvements.
- Assist in the installation, calibration, and testing of new equipment and systems.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair tasks performed, as well as equipment performance data.
- Train and mentor junior and backup technicians on technical procedures, safety protocols, and best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in technology and industry standards to continuously enhance technical knowledge and skills.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards in all activities.
Required Skills:
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of basic engineering principles and concepts; basic IT skills required, including TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, wired and wireless technologies.
- Proficient in using a variety of tools, equipment, and software used in technical IT tasks.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects.
- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy and documentation.
- Proficient communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills to assess and evaluate technical data and make and communicate informed decisions.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic work setting.
- Proficient in record-keeping and documentation practices to maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repair activities.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent - minimum.
- An associate or bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred. Knowledge of Google, Microsoft, CRM, and Support systems.
- Typical certifications are a plus (Comp TIA A+, Net+, and/or other industry/manufacturer training).
- Knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to IT and equipment maintenance.
- Experience installing, configuring, and operating industry-standard security platforms and hardware such as Axis, Genetec, Avigilon, and Milestone preferred (not required)
- Ability to lift heavy equipment (less than 50 lbs.) and perform physical tasks as required.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Available to travel as much as 50-60% via automobile and/or airplane (business travel experience is a plus)
Knowledge Base:
- Understanding the importance of responsibility and accountability, doing quality work, adhering to the standards to prevent errors, and working effectively to achieve the desired results. Observes and enforces local, state, and federal OSHA laws and regulations. Follows client policies and protocols.
- Completes in an accurate and timely manner all paperwork and/or data entry into electronic systems, including but not limited to time sheets/time entry and all other related processes and forms specific to a project.
