We are looking for a friendly, personable team member to join our family practice

Duties can include the following but not limited to: Answering phones, pulling authorization for vision and/or medical insurances, file claim for vision insurances, ordering lens and frame from various labs and other vendors, pretesting, check in of patients, cleaning work area, billing insurances, contact lens training, etc.

We are looking for someone who is friendly and respectful, detail oriented, and professional. We can train the proper candidate if needed.

Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

 

Company DescriptionWe're looking for an optometry technician with experience to work at a fun, well-established and well-respected practice that provides vision care and treatments for eye disease as well as routine vision exams, including contact lenses and glasses. We are looking for a warm and caring individual who has a passion for patient care, excellent customer service, bilingual verbal/written communication skills, and exceptional teamwork skills to join our team as an Ophthalmic Assistant.

We value communication and interpersonal skills. This position is very interactive. Someone who has experience in sales, aesthetics, costumer service or an eye doctor's office with pretesting skills would have an advantage in this position.

Candidate must have prior knowledge and experience working in the optometry or ophthalmology field.

General Responsibilities and Duties:

Developing a rapport with patients
Answering phones and scheduling appointments
Pre-testing with autorefraction, visual acuity measurement
Selling and dispensing glasses and specialty contact lenses
Diagnostic testing: Tonopen tonometry, Visual fields, Corneal topography, Fundus photos, Color vision testing, Stereovision testing, Pupillary exam.
Medication refills and electronic prescribing
Stocking and sanitizing exam rooms
Insurance verification
Caring for medical equipment
Training for Contact Lenses
Patient education
Someone who is good with computers and technology will find the new skills easy to learn. We have state of the art equipment and many of our systems are technology dependent.

Optometric assistants and Optician assistants are encouraged to apply as we are willing to train people who are enthusiastic about building on their experience by learning new skills.

Qualifications and Skills:

Ophthalmology/Optometry/Optical experience is highly preferred
Works well in a team setting
Comfort with computers and technical work
Bilingual in Spanish
