Job DescriptionJob DescriptionResponsibilities:
- Organizing and Managing Trailers: Yard jockeys are responsible for efficiently organizing and managing trailers within the yard. They move trailers to loading docks for loading or unloading.
- Equipment Inspection: Regularly inspecting equipment (such as yard trucks or shunt trucks) to ensure they are in proper working condition.
- Communication: Communicating with dispatch, fellow drivers, and warehouse personnel to coordinate trailer movements and ensure smooth operations.
- Local Deliveries: Occasionally making local deliveries within the yard.
- Paperwork: Completing manifests, paperwork, and logging all trailer moves.
- Flexibility: Being adaptable, as daily tasks can change based on operational needs
- Must know how to operate sit-down forklift and Reach truck.
