We are currently seeking an Assistant Program Director to assist the Program Director with planning and executing marketing, promotional and special event campaigns by collaborating with the Programming, Promotions and Sales teams.


KEY FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:

  • Aids Program Director with managing all radio human capital in programming and production departments.
  • Ensures FCC rules and regulation compliance, along with internal policies and applicable federal, state and local laws.
  • Keeps Program Director apprised of any potential issues or concerns related to personnel or business.
  • Establishes and maintains professional relationships with artists representation team and other industry contacts.
  • Vast knowledge and broadcast acumen, with firm understanding of the latest trends and evaluating radio talent.
  • Key contributor in development of annual budgets to include forecasting, expenditures, record, and documentation maintenance.
  • Assists with approval process of commercial and paid programming content.
  • Oversees program plans and tracking of progress and changes.
  • Responsible for carrying out executive objectives and strategic plan.
  • Visible and present for station Programming, Sales and Promotions department meetings.
  • Attends special events and campaigns upon request.
  • Ensures that all logged commercials, promotions, and programming are aired per contractional commitment.
  • High degree of planning and organizing skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Identifies and participates in recruiting top media talent.
  • Assists with development of internal personnel, identifies training opportunities and responsible for building cohesive team with collaborative effort from department heads.
  • Monitors the quality of all on-air production and keeps Program Director apprised of any non-compliant issues or FCC infractions.
  • Ensures that the station stays true to the brand and provides musical direction to other departments as needed.
  • Other job-related duties as required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prefer bachelor’s degree in business administration, advertising, communications, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • 10 + years in related media field. Previous exposure to sales, marketing, and operations a plus.
  • 5 + years in similar management capacity required.
  • Familiarity with internet radio and music streaming.
  • Extensive knowledge of Hip Hop and R&B culture, music and artists
  • Knowledge and appreciation of diverse music genres
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Flexible, creative and technologically relevant.
  • Excellent team leadership delegation skills and cross team collaborator.
  • Excellent data analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (WORD, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent verbal and written skill set.
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to work weekends and off-hours if requested.
