Human Resource Administrator

Well established manufacturing company seeks a full time corporate Human Resource Administrator. We are a privately held company located in beautiful Northern Michigan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
  • Knowledgeable in MIOSHA health and safety standards/activities including: setting and enforcing occupational safety and health standards; providing extensive safety and health training and education; and working with staff to develop innovative programs to prevent workplace hazards.
  • Maintains administration duties which include: healthcare plan functions, benefit enrollment, short term and long term disability, 401K committee.
  • Maintains organization of HR staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counsels managers on candidate selection; conducts and analyzes exit interviews; recommending changes.
  • Strengthening/maintaining a consistent training program in conjunction with a recruiting strategy for new employees.
  • Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees, hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors.
  • Maintains employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends. Designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.
  • Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies.
  • Must be able to work effectively on a team, have a good work ethic, and have the ability to effectively communicate with team members and customers.

Education:

· Bachelor Degree preferred

Competencies:

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize workloads in order to meet deadlines.
