About the Role:

The role of Installation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and guiding our fiber installation team. Responsibilities extend to managing both internal teams and external contractors to ensure that all aspects of the installation process are efficiently coordinated and executed according to project timelines and quality standards. This role demands a proactive approach to scheduling, resource allocation, and supervision, ensuring that projects are delivered effectively and meet our high standards of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate activities of the installation team.
  • Conduct assessments to determine outage requirements and address them.
  • Ensure adherence to established company workflows by supervising and auditing team compliance.
  • Gather, scrutinize, and organize daily project submissions.
  • Prepare and submit detailed weekly and monthly project status reports within assigned areas.
  • Monitor and manage project schedules and key milestones.
  • Update and maintain accurate utility records as required.
  • Act as the initial point of contact for emergencies involving underground or aerial damage, assess situations, document and relay critical information, and provide repair materials as needed outside normal hours.
  • Update incident tickets with relevant details such as photographs, notes, route information, and any yard damages.
  • Facilitate effective communication across different departments.
  • Alert relevant departments upon initiating installations in new zones.
  • Conduct site surveys as needed to ensure readiness and compliance.
  • Prepare and manage damage reports as required.
  • Coordinate with the inventory coordinator to ensure the availability of necessary resources for deployment and projects.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Key Qualifications:

  • HSD, or equivalent education, is required.
  • 2-3 years’ management experience in a construction field
  • Advanced knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations as they pertain to OSP/Utility construction.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Attention to accuracy, detail, and completeness.
  • Must be driven and self-motivated with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to take initiative and handle various tasks simultaneously while working efficiently, effectively, and independently.
  • Valid Drivers’ Licenses, required.

Additional Notes:

  • This position may require being on-call. Employees will respond to emergency calls between the hours of 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. This position may require weekend work, night work, and/or overnight travel.
  • This position does require travel to different counties throughout Indiana.
  • This position is performed in the field both outdoor and indoor conditions daily.
