As an ICU Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing specialized care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit. Your role involves closely monitoring patients, administering critical medications, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients with life-threatening conditions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess patients' vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and other critical indicators, intervening promptly in case of any abnormalities.
  • Administer and titrate medications, including vasoactive drugs and other critical care medications, as prescribed by physicians.
  • Participate in code blue responses and other emergency situations, providing immediate and effective interventions to stabilize patients.
  • Advocate for the needs and preferences of critically ill patients, ensuring that their care aligns with their wishes and follows ethical standards.
  • Provide emotional support and education to the families of critically ill patients, keeping them informed about the patient's condition and involving them in the care process when appropriate.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate electronic health records, documenting assessments, interventions, and patient responses in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Nursing.
  • Valid RN license in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) is often preferred.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Strong critical-thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-stress and dynamic environment.

Work Environment: ICU Registered Nurses typically work in hospital settings, specifically in the Intensive Care Unit. The environment is fast-paced, and the workload may include caring for patients with complex medical conditions.
