Primary Function:

Performs assembly, installation, or repair activities related to the upfit of specialty vehicles and in alignment with production scheduling. Installers maintain the integrity of company standards related to production quality at all times.

Scope of Work:

This position performs assembly, upfit, and service work in line build or bay build models, using work instructions and/or drawings to build vehicles to customer specifications. The Installation Technician will report to the Production Manager.

Certification Requirements:

NTEA 101, NTEA 201 Required

ASE E1, E2, and/or E3 Recommended

Forklift Certification Recommended

English Language (read/write fluently)

Core Job Responsibilities:

1. Assemble or upfit specialty vehicle components to customers specification.

2. Install new truck bodies, such as dump bodies, platforms, service bodies, or van bodies onto chassis.

3. Install or assemble interior shelving and components for specialty use cargo van or box trucks.

4. Run electrical or hydraulic lines for functions such as lighting, dump body, lift gates, or plows on a vehicle.

5. Troubleshoot and repair issues with truck equipment as part of service or warranty work.

6. Maintain basic to advanced skills in assembly, 110V or 12V electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and fabrication.

7. Perform detailed, standardized quality control stage gates during production and report or correct defects.

8. Read and interpret order intake forms, work instructions, layout drawings, or customer specifications in English.

9. Adhere to 5S standards in production.

10. Maintain excellent housekeeping in production area.

11. Recommend improvements to sustain high levels of quality and efficiency in production.

12. Be accountable and contribute positively to production utilization and efficiency goals.

13. Ensure process discipline to Standard Operating Procedures within Production Order Management Systems.

14. Approach all internal customer requests and scenarios with a ‘can-do’ attitude.

15. Maintain basic knowledge of scheduling tools such as visual boards and be accountable to production functions within these tools.

16. Maintain safe and smart work practices at all times.

17. Perform general building tasks as required or assigned, such as vehicle movements, equipment maintenance, cleaning/housekeeping, or safety checks.

18. Perform other duties as assigned.
