What the Porter does


As a part-time Porter, you are the most important behind the scenes position for our winery and kitchen. You ensure cleanliness and upkeep of our kitchen, bathrooms, and service ware, utensils, and tools. Working at our offsite kitchen in San Jose (up to 3 days/week), the day to day may include:


  • Preparing dishes, silverware, pots, pans, and other kitchen tools for cleaning
  • Maintaining multiple areas such as the kitchen, bathroom, and other assigned areas is stocked and tidy throughout the day
  • Conducting sanitization procedure to ensure safety measure
  • Assisting with food prep as needed
Requirements:

As a Porter, you will bring:

  • Prior experience working in a commercial kitchen preferred
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well with others
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Availability to work at least 3 days per week, evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to stand and engage in physical activity for the duration of the shift (repetitive motions include, but are not limited to grabbing, reaching, lifting, bending, and stooping)
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. frequently
  • Ability to works frequently in hot and damp environment; Frequently immersing hands in water and water diluted with chemical solutioning
