Job Summary:

As a Roofing Service Technician, you will play a pivotal role in the installation and repair of various roofing systems, ensuring the protection and integrity of commercial buildings. As a representative of the company your responsibilities encompass both roof installation and repair, including the replacement of damaged roof components, while providing stellar customer service.

Duties/Responsibilities

•Work in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA guidelines

•Install new roofs and roofing materials on a wide range of low and steep slope roof structures, primarily commercial buildings.

•Perform thorough roof inspections to identify issues requiring repair and to devise effective solutions.

•Accurately measure roofs and calculate the necessary materials for each project.

•Ability to investigate leak conditions, determine point of entry and execute necessary roof repairs with compatible materials.

•Replace damaged or deteriorating plywood, joists, and other structural components. Safely transport materials and equipment to the job site using a company truck.

•Fulfill any other relevant duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

•Ability to work self-directed and resolve roof problems.

•Proficiency in both low and steep slope roofing materials and their installation techniques.

•Knowledge of roof coatings and sealants and their application techniques.

•Knowledge of the hazards and safety requirements of the trade.

•Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

•Ability to follow instructions with precision.

•Exceptional organizational abilities and keen attention to detail.

•Competence in the use of both hand and power tools as well as other necessary roof equipment.

•Proficient mathematical skills to accurately calculate material and material requirements.

•Ability to operate a smart phone, follow job instructions and enter required job information.

•Ability to pass a background check for access to governmental facilities desired.

Education and Experience:

•A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

•Previous commercial roof repair experience is required

.•Rigging and signaling experience. Certification a plus.

•Driver’s license highly preferred.

•Ability to supervise the work of others.

Physical Requirements:

•Prolonged periods of standing and walking.

•Must be able to tolerate extreme working conditions.

•Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

•Comfortable working at heights. Can carry, erect and climb a ladder in a safe manner.
