We are partnering with the Benedictine Sisters to hire a part-time Maintenance Worker in a small monastery/convent home environment in Bakerstown, PA (near Gibsonia, near Route 8, north of Pittsburgh)

  • This position is part-time (averaging 20 hours per week, with the potential to grow into full-time).

Responsibilities:

  • Preventative maintenance and perform scheduled repairs
  • Complete maintenance work orders in a timely manner
  • Maintains grounds and outdoor areas including swimming pool
  • Snow removal
  • Following safety & health standards

Education and Experience:

  • HS Diploma preferred
  • Past maintenance experience w/knowledge of building & construction
  • Building system knowledge of HVAC, plumbing & water
  • Ability to work independently, computer skills helpful

Employees in the convent homes care for our sisters directly as nurses (RNs/LPNs), and nurse aides/ CNAs. Other positions provide indirect care as dietary staff, housekeepers and maintenance workers. Additional departments provide operational support through Finance, the Office of Mission Advancement, Communications, Development, Human Resources, Program Outreach and IT. The Felician Sisters is a congregation of women religious, inspired by the spiritual ideals of their foundress Blessed Mary Angela Truszkowska and Saints Francis of Assisi, Clare of Assisi and Felix of Cantalice. Founded in Poland in 1855, the first Felician Sisters arrived in North America in 1874 to minister to the immigrant and indigenous families of Polonia, WI. They established eight provinces across the United States and Canada. In 2009, they united the eight provinces into Our Lady of Hope Province, allowing for a more strategic use of resources.

Pioneers of social services, the Felician Sisters founded and continue to sponsor hospices, schools, childcare centers, hospitals, after-school programs, homeless shelters, food pantries, nursing homes, affordable housing communities, and missions in Haiti and Canada.
