CNC Programmer/Operator

Starting Rate: $30-$35/hr. Depending on experience

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work from complex prints to program and machine parts of various materials (primarily stainless steel and common plastics) on our Haas vertical mills and Mazak CNC turning centers.
  • Set and adjust work/tool offsets as necessary.
  • Independently select and set up tooling and fixtures/jaws.
  • Monitor the run of parts in the cycle and after completion to ensure that specifications and tolerances are met.
  • Be proficient in using and understanding all common machine shop measuring tools, such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, ID/OD micrometers, etc.
  • Train and mentor peers, when necessary
  • Other duties as required by the Production Manager

Required qualifications:

  • HS diploma or equivalent, technical school certification a plus
  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience; primary proficiency in CNC turning. Mazak and Okuma's conversational programming is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of lathe and mill tooling/inserts
  • Be able to properly follow verbal instructions and interpret technical drawings/sketches. Be proficient in understanding technical drawings and sketches.
  • Work well with others and collaborate on cross-departmental projects.
