Job Description:

The Civil Engineer will be responsible for contributing to the planning, design, and execution of residential, commercial, and industrial land development projects. This role involves working on comprehensive site plans, grading plans, utility layouts, and stormwater management systems, ensuring that all projects meet the highest standards of quality and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Design: Develop comprehensive site plans, grading plans, utility layouts, and stormwater management systems for various land development projects.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with architects, surveyors, and environmental engineers to integrate all aspects of the project, utilizing both in-person and remote communication methods.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as zoning and land use codes.
  • Permitting: Prepare and submit permit applications, coordinating with regulatory agencies to secure necessary approvals.
  • Client Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients, presenting design concepts and providing updates on project progress, whether through in-person meetings, video calls, or other remote communication methods.
  • Construction Support: Provide engineering support during the construction phase, including site visits, troubleshooting, and addressing any design changes.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct site inspections and quality control checks to ensure that projects are built according to the approved designs and specifications.
  • Technical Documentation: Prepare and review technical reports, engineering calculations, and construction documents.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on land development projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, hydrology/hydraulic modeling software, and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Strong understanding of local zoning laws, land use regulations, and permitting processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Work Schedule and Flexibility:

  • Hybrid Schedule: The role offers a hybrid work schedule with 2 days in the office and the remainder working remotely.
