Looking for experienced, professional, painter who is responsible for preparing and painting residential and commercial properties in a timely manner. Interior and exterior painting at different locations on Staten Island, NY.
Top Duties and Qualifications:
Previous painting experience is a must.
Excellent people skills.
Must have clean driving license and a car to get to different locations.
Proficiency with painting tools and equipment a plus
Ability to safely operate various vehicles and equipment
Good color vision and aesthetic instincts
Attention to detail and always alert to ensure safety
Physical strength, stamina, and dexterity
Capable of receiving and following instructions and communicating with co-workers
Able to read and adhere to labels, safety warnings, and guidelines
Time management skills to ensure tasks are completed on schedule
Painter duties and responsibilities:
The duties include meeting with clients to discuss color and logistics of the job
Great customer service skills, since working with tenants residing in their apartments.
Collaboration and teamwork when working with crew
Keeping an inventory of supplies like paint brushes, rollers, tarps, or ladders and working with a team of maintenance technicians, building superintendents, to oversee the completion of painting jobs.
Applies various finishes to buildings, rooms, or other structures, including primers or sealers.
Prepares, cleans, and tapes all jobsites.
Removes old paint coating, if necessary.
Moves necessary materials around jobsite as assigned.
Cleans up worksite debris.
Communicating with clients to determine their painting requirements and helping them make the best decisions for the job.
Assembling scaffolding as required
Covering trim, floors, furniture, and other surfaces with masking tape, drop cloths and other protective coverings to keep them free of paint
Preparing surfaces to be painted by washing them, filling holes and cracks with putty and sanding them until they’re smooth
Applying primer and other sealers to paint surfaces to ensure that paint sticks to them
Applying paint, stain, and other finishes to paint surfaces using paintbrushes, rollers, or sprayers
Cleaning machines, equipment and work areas using water, solvents, and other cleaning aids
Reviewing and implementing work orders and assignments
Removing and reinstalling fixtures (e.g, doorknobs, electric switch covers) as necessary
Following safeguards, rules, and regulations
