Job Title: Retail/Merchandise Intern Duration: Part-Time

Location: Laramie, WY Salary Range: $12 - $14 Hourly

The Retail / Merchandise Intern’s purpose is to support WyoTech Marketing with all merchandise, retail pop-ups, storage, organization, and planning for all WyoTech products.

Responsibilities

• Support the merchandising division of WyoTech Marketing, supporting retail merchandise, sales supply merchandise, and inventory.
• Support the continued development of our onsite and online stores and pop-ups to capitalize on sales.
• Support the day of set-up and tear-down for events (registration, graduation, etc.) and maintain on-campus store merchandise.
• Support visitors and employees by gifting ideas to marketing and other team members.
• Support the operation of a store unit, including special orders, receiving, shipping, and return of overstocked or defective merchandise.
• Represent the organization at various community and business events; promote existing and new programs and policies.
• Assists with and implements systems and processes to establish and maintain records for the operating unit.
• Assists with developing and implementing policies and procedures consistent with those of the organization to ensure efficient and safe operation of the unit.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned; participate in design and concepting for new merchandise for the brand.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; at least one year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Experience with Shopify or similar POS software is a plus, inventory management required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC or Windows-based operating environment.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
• Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to receive, stock, and deliver goods.
• Knowledge of procurement rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of retail floor merchandising and stock control procedures.
• Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
• Employee development and performance management skills.
• Knowledge of retail advertising, sales promotion, and visual merchandising techniques.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

• Physical effort is required with the ability to lift 50lb boxes.
• Exposure to physical risk.
• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
