Job DescriptionJob Description

The ophthalmic technician will work directly with two ophthalmologists to provide patient care by performing eye-related clinical tasks which include:

  • Taking patient medical histories
  • Instructing patients about medications, tests and procedures
  • Performing vision and diagnostic tests which include visual field test, OCT, auto-refractor, fundus camera, lensometer, and manual refractions
  • Assisting with patient procedures
  • Assisting/teaching patients contact lens care
  • Coordinating patient scheduling
  • Scheduling surgeries
  • Performing office management duties
