Senior Staff Accountant - Steel Manufacturing - Base Salary to 90k/year - Blytheville, AR
- Our client, a very well-established yet still growing Steel Manufacturing company, is currently seeking a Senior Staff Accountant for their Blytheville, AR location.
- This is a fully onsite / in-office role reporting directly to the Finance Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Complete monthly financial close process (analytics, commentary, & reporting)
- Data entry of all journal entries
- Monitor daily steel cost compared to consumption cost
- Calculate annual cost standards for inventory valuation purposes
- Understand and monitor the product cost across the full spectrum of inventory
- Prepare calculation and analysis for standard to actual inventory variance
- Manage scrap processing errors within SAP
- Monitor inventory reports & coordinate quarterly stockroom reserve
- Prepare any intercompany cross charges
- Complete assigned monthly account reconciliations, journal entries, weekly spending reports, yield analysis, & maintain cycle count records
- Prepare quarterly forecast updates for assigned companies
- Coordinate the annual budget process for assigned companies and assist with consolidations as required
- Support the annual external audit & prepare quarterly financial disclosure roll-forwards for review and submission to corporate
- Review cost savings initiatives for financial benefits
- Ad hoc reporting as required
- Meet all required due dates with completeness and accuracy
Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting preferred
- 3+ years’ experience with general ledger accounting & closing for manufacturing
- Advanced knowledge of Excel or similar spreadsheet use preferred
- ERP Experience (SAP a plus)
- Ability to travel 5% (domestic, no more than a week at a time)
Compensation:
- Base salary up to 90k/year, plus 5% profit sharing
