Position Objectives
•\tAssess and accurately diagnose health issues/needs of new and returning patients.
•\tReduce pain and restore healthy function within the scope and standard of physical therapy care.

•\tContribute to collaborative care model with the provider team.

Specific Responsibilities
•\tDiagnose health problems through review of patient medical history and information provided during observational questions and examination.
•\tJoin with and engage patients’ commitment and participation in their treatment plan and return to musculoskeletal health.
•\tTest and measure patient’s strength, motor development and function, sensory perception, functional capacity, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency and record data.
•\tPlan, prepare and carry out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent physical dysfunction in patients.
•\tEvaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
•\tMaintain complete records for each patient of each encounter.
•\tManage each patient case in collaboration with provider colleagues.
•\tAdminister and/or oversee manual exercises, massage and/or traction to help relieve pain, increase the patient’s strength and decrease or prevent deformity and crippling.
•\tDirect and supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and Physical Therapy Aides, assessing their competence, delegating specific tasks to them and establishing channels of communication.
•\tContribute essays and articles on topics relevant to physical therapy and nonsurgical orthopedic medicine.
•\tReinforce PR&RM values and culture in all activities.
•\tOther projects as requested by management.

Education and Experience Required
•\tDoctor of Physical Therapy degree from an accredited college or university.
•\tCurrent State of New Jersey Physical Therapy license.
