Job Title:           Superintendent                                        

Reports To:      Safety Director/Sr. Superintendent         

FLSA Status:    Exempt                                                     

                    

SUMMARY

            I.     Goal

Supervise and coordinate all production personnel including, but not limited to, foremen, painters, paperhangers, apprentices, laborers, and subcontractors.

          II.     Hours: 

Monday-Friday – 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sat./Sun as needed.

              ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following -- Other duties may be assigned:

        III.     Supervision

1.  Visit all jobs before they start in order to determine job readiness, special conditions, and onsite scheduling concerns.

2.   Monitor all projects verifying that quality standards are met, production rates are met or exceeded, and schedules maintained. Track job          costs against budgeted costs with Project Managers to know the profitability of all work in progress at all times.

3.   Coordinate and schedule manpower taking in consideration the specific needs of all projects. Be sure the right people are in the right              places.

4.   Responsible for knowing and monitoring the punctuality, work habits, work ethics, personality, skills, capabilities, and limitation of all                field personnel.

5.   Verify all projects have the proper documentation (construction documents, safety manual, written haz-com program, fall protection                   program, respiratory protection program, SDS, approved color draw-down, wallcovering samples and marked up plans).

6.    Verify all projects have proper safety equipment and sufficient material.

7.    Insure foreman obtains written authorization for extra work (T&M).

8.    Review all projects with Project Manager and Project Foreman.

9.    Observe, correct, and report any unsafe conditions to the Safety Manager, Project Manager, and/or President.

10.   Coordinate punch list completion. Pre-punch inspections should be made to insure work is installed properly, and quality is excellent.

11.    Review/approve all timecards before submitting to payroll department with foreman identified.

12.    Other duties as may be assigned.

13.    Enforce company and safety policies.

14.    Work with management and/or safety manager to designate special training required for foremen and painters.

15.    Negotiate pricing for all special rental company equipment and monitor use of equipment.

16.    Monitor use of company vehicles and company equipment.

17.    Coordinate delivery of paint materials for individual job efficiency.

18.    Verify safety credentials and access badges are current for field. Schedule training as required.

19.    Coordinate and manage interactions with paint and other subcontractors.

 

        IV.     Miscellaneous:

1.    Deliver/pick up as needed.

2.    Coordinate time off to allow one (1) member of team to always be working.

3.    Proficient in writing, understanding, and using construction documents.

4.    Excellent written and verbal communication skills

5.    Professional and polished in appearance and speech.

6.    Self-motivated and punctual

7.    Able to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow up skills.

8.    Computer literacy required.

9.    Participate in company sponsored training as made available.

10.  Prepare for and attend pre-construction/job site meetings as needed.

11.  Lead by example. Take responsibility for issues honestly and fairly.

12.  Willingness to make the tough decisions consistently.

13.  Customer service focused.

           V.     SUPERVISORY RESPONSBILITES:

 Supervise field employees and operations.

         VI.     QUALIFICATIONS

Three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    VIII.     LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, procedure manuals and safety rules. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of our Company.

        IX.     MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as costs, overhead, profit, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic Algebra and geometry.

          X.     REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

       XI.     PHYSICAL DEMANDS
