Position Title: Construction Superintendent / SSHO – Federal Government Construction

Location: Fort Moore GA

 

Contractor looking for a dual role Construction Superintendent and SSHO.

 

Duties:

 

The project superintendent is primarily responsible for managing and

coordinating day-to-day production and schedule adherence on the project.

The superintendent is required to attend partnering meetings, and quality

control meetings. The superintendent must be

on-site at all times during the performance of this contract until the work

is completed and accepted.

 

SSHO Duties:

 

a. Conduct daily safety and health inspections and maintain a written log

which includes area/operation inspected, date of inspection, identified

hazards, recommended corrective actions, estimated and actual dates of

corrections. Attach safety inspection logs to the Contractors' daily

production report.

b. Conduct mishap investigations and complete required accident reports.

Report mishaps and near misses.

c. Use OSHA's Form 300 to log work-related injuries and illnesses

occurring on the project site for Prime Contractors and

subcontractors. Post and maintain the Form 300 on the site Safety

Bulletin Board.

d. Maintain applicable safety reference material on the job site.

e. Attend the pre-construction conference, pre-work meetings including

preparatory meetings, and periodic in-progress meetings.

f. Ensure subcontractor compliance with safety and health requirements.

g. Maintain a list of hazardous chemicals on site and their material

Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

Superintendent, QC Manager, and/or SSHO are subject to dismissal if the

above duties are not being effectively carried out. If Superintendent, QC

Manager, or SSHO are dismissed, project work will be stopped and will not

be allowed to resume until a suitable replacement is approved and the above

duties are again being effectively carried out.

 

Specific Points of Interest:

• Must be able to pass Government background check and obtain pass/access to Fort Stewart, including vehicle registration & insurance (or have alternate transportation means).

• Must be self-sufficient. (on site supervision by PM is once/twice weekly only)

• Must be computer savvy; will be required to do look ahead schedules, production reports, etc. so needs to have some knowledge.

• EM385-1-1 training/experience preferred.

• Credentialed in Fall Protection preferred.

 

 

Requirements

 

1. 10 or more years of experience in USACE or related Government construction.

2. 5 or more years of experience as a Construction Superintendent.

3. Familiar with the requirements of EM 385-1-1.

4. 5 or more years of continuous construction industry safety experience (SSHO) in managing general construction.
